![]() ![]() More importantly, farming requires knowledge and experience. Planting, growing, and harvesting crops takes a lot of work. However, there's a reason why well-run farms net millions of dollars. My planter didn't sit still for 3 hours which makes me think the game doesn't count from planting time but rather advances growth cycles at a set rate like every 3 hours or something it'll check all fields and tick them ahead if they're due for it.The Farming Simulator franchise may seem straightforward to people that are new to the games. I've had it happen once (planted on real time but my seeder ran empty and sat there for awhile and I didn't notice) and the second half took a long time (I don't remember exactly but it was at least 3 hours) to be ready for harvest. You definitely want to plant on real time otherwise half your field may tick ahead of the other half. I read somewhere that doing missions can screw with your growth ticks, but I haven't paid attention to this mainly cause I don't do a lot of missions. But different crops might have different growth speeds I don't have any hard data on that. I think on normal (I play on hard difficulty with the crop growth set to normal cause slow takes too long) it takes about 6 hours per growth stage, which sounds about right cause it takes 18 hours for grass to fully mature (the three different harvest stages) and 30(?) hours for crops like barley and corn to grow. Crop growth you can toggle in the menu from fast to normal to hard. ![]() I did a little bit of googling and came up blank.
